The vision
Nuru Shillings was founded in June 2026 for one reason: a payment should be private, secure, and available to the business that is actually taking it. The buyer’s identity is not published. The company name is the name on the checkout. The record is kept on Nuru’s private chain, under Nuru’s own controls, and is not posted where an outside party can follow the amount, the time, or the path.
Security here means the payment cannot be read off a public ledger, and the person behind it is not the face of the charge. The company still receives a clear paid or refused result, with the reference it sent. Privacy is the point of the product, not an extra setting.
A business should also be able to run the site it has, without being refused because of its category. Card networks block whole kinds of commerce and apply limits that have nothing to do with whether the payment is valid. Nuru does not apply those blocks. A shop, a service, a marketplace, an app, or an adult site can take payment on its own page.
What matters
What matters first is that the identity stays hidden and the payment stays private. Settlement does not leave a public trail. What the buyer sees is the company. What stays with Nuru is the record.
The business does not have to be a registered company. You give the company a name. Nuru records that name on its own servers, and that is the only name a checkout shows. Your personal name is not shown.
What matters next is that the business is not held to the usual processor limits. Nuru does not decline a website because card networks have declined that category. The account is free to open. The company pays 1% only when a payment is paid.
The buyer is not forced onto one method. If they already hold Nuru Shillings, they spend that balance. If they do not, they pay with M-Pesa, PayPal, or a card, still on the company’s page. Money added to the wallet is available at once. A refund returns to the same wallet, matched by payment id. The rate does not change: 100 Nuru Shillings to 1 US dollar, whether someone buys, pays, sells, or is refunded.
